Audit and update the asset register at a manufacturing client
You are a junior field technician.
What has happened
Tarrant Precision Manufacturing is about to have its factory network segmented so that machine controllers are separated from the office. Monitoring has found at least one controller on the network that is not in the IT Asset Register, and Callum O'Shea will not approve the change until every networked device is known. You will visit the site with Jordan Blake to audit every device in the factory office and on the floor, record make, model, location and warranty, note anything unsupported or out of place, and update the register. The factory floor has forklifts, moving machinery and a site induction that must be completed first.
Deliverables

Evidence guide
Evidence must show a physical reconciliation, not a copy of existing records, with additions, corrections and retirements clearly identified. Look for correct safety preparation and induction, consistent asset tagging, and a clear exceptions list. The link between the unknown controller and the open security incident shows the student understands why the audit matters.
